Maggie

I snuck out of my own damn house. I’m exhausted and my emotions are all over the place. I was irresponsible last night. Had sex with a man ten years younger than me. And not just once… multiple times. I would barely fall asleep before he was mounting me and filling me again. The last time, I was in and out of consciousness, but he still pleasured me, and I swear I thought I heard him whisper “mine” into my ear before I drifted off again.

When I woke up this morning, he was passed out. I sat in the chair next to the bed, memorizing his body. Every tattoo, every muscle, every scar. He’s perfection and the things he did to me last night still make me blush.

I showered in the guest bathroom and got dressed quickly. I considered writing him a note, but after five minutes of debating what I should write, I skipped it and left to go to work.

When I pull into the bank, I look at myself in the mirror and try to cover the love marks on my neck. I have them all over, and my body heats just remembering how they got there.

Time passes quickly and I think about him all day. I would love to see him again, but I know it’s the wrong thing to do. I can’t imagine him giving up that easily, unless he really is just a player. The thought rolls around in my head all day until I’m a frenzy of nerves, second-guessing myself and him. In the end, I decide that after one night I’m already attached. I know what I need to do.

After work, I walk out to my car with plans to go home, soak in the tub and go to sleep early. But as soon as I get to my car, I notice Brewer leaning against it. He’s not smiling. If anything, he looks pissed. On the defensive, I hold my arms across my chest.

I look at him questioningly. “What’re you doing here, Brewer?”

He stands up from leaning on my car. “I wanted to see you. Is that not okay?”

I look around as Tad comes out of the bank and walks to his car. He walks right past us but doesn’t take his eyes off of me.

Brewer comes toward me with his eyes on Tad. He doesn’t look away as he puts his arms around me and his hands lazily pet my ass. I pull away from him.

Tad just gets in his car and drives away.

I throw my hands up in the air. “Really, do you want me bend over and let you pee on me, maybe mark your territory too?”

He just smirks at me. “I’m not really into that, honey, but yeah, I just wanted to make sure he knew you were mine.”

I step up to my car door and gesture for him to move. When he doesn’t, I look up at him and the hope in his eyes about makes me fold my plan.
